Melt’s 85% Philippines Dark Chocolate is a delicious volcanic chocolate that comes from breathtaking tropical islands in the Philippines. Rich volcanic chocolate. Think of white sun kissed beaches, pristine aquamarine waters creating a dark powerful chocolate.
Single Origin Dark Chocolate
The cacao plantation is situated on the most southerly of the larger islands of the Philippines – and in the “Goldilocks zone” 10 degrees either side of the equator – the cocoa farmers of Mindanao Island have the ideal combination of tropical rainforest and volcanic soil. It is also Kosher & Halal Certified, using Bean-to-Bar crafting.
Ethically Sourced – Philippines
Melt ensures our single origin chocolate is from ethical sources. Our chocolate suppliers have personal relationships with the the cocoa bean farmers and make regular trips to the cocoa farms to meet the farmer, to inspect the farm and ensure no child labour is used. All the farms we purchase cocoa beans from are family owned and practice multi-cropping to help promote biodiversity and encourage symbiotic planting relationships and pest control. The farms are all based on rich volcanic soil that require little, if any, fertiliser.
