Whether you’ve become vegan in the past years or decades, you may be missing the treat of a chocolate advent calendar each Christmas. Vegan chocolate advent calendars may not have been the priority for a lot of companies, as there just wasn’t as much demand for them. Luckily vegan products have become much more accessible in the last few years, as the collective effort to save our planet has turned many to veganism. There is now a lot of choice!

We’ve approached our Vegan Chocolate Advent Calendar slightly differently to most!
Although milk alternatives can be very tasty, often the chocolate ends up not tasting like chocolate! Or the chocolates are sweetened with sugar. Instead, we want to give you a truly chocolatey advent calendar. One which is dairy-free, low sugar and delicious.
At Melt Chocolates, we pride ourselves for following the mantra of less sugar and more cocoa. This is why we strive to ensure that all our chocolate products are high in cocoa solids as that’s what enables the nuanced notes of the cocoa bean to shine through!
All of the chocolate in our 12 Days of Christmas Vegan Advent Calendar are above 68% cocoa percentage. As a rule of thumb – the higher the percentage of cocoa in dark chocolate, the more rich and savoury its taste will be. However, this does not mean you will just get the same dark chocolate bar each time. There are so many nuances when it comes to the flavour of dark chocolate, and that’s not even with added ingredients! Many of the bars within the advent calendar are Single Origin chocolates. This means the cocoa beans have been harvested from just one location. For instance, the 85% Philippines Dark Chocolate has beautiful smoky, vanilla notes due to the growth of the cocoa beans on the volcanic soil of the Philippines.

From the more rich flavours of coffee and sea salt to the more moorish flavours of roasted hazelnuts and red berry, we’ve got something for everyone.
